Dr. Tricia Blalock

Dr. Tricia Blalock joined Baylor University in Fall 2017 and serves as the Director of Health Science Studies and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation. She holds a post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University and a Master of Public Health from the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center.
With over 29 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist, Dr. Blalock has practiced across a wide range of healthcare settings, including acute and sub-acute care, rehabilitation, outpatient services, and home health. She is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatrics through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and holds advanced certification in lymphedema management from the Academy of Lymphatic Studies. She teaches adjunct for Baylor’s entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy program and Master of Science in Medical Sciences.
Dr. Blalock serves as co-faculty advisor for the Medical Ethics Discussion Society (MEDS) and is a member of the Pre-Health Committee and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Her commitment to holistic student development is reflected in her leadership of a pre-health chapel section, where she guides students in exploring how faith can be integrated into future healthcare practice.
Passionate about experiential learning, Dr. Blalock leads annual study abroad trips to Costa Rica, offering students firsthand insight into global health and physical therapy in underserved communities. She also teaches a New Student Experience course each fall, helping first-year students navigate Baylor’s resources and thrive during their academic journey.
Deeply dedicated to student success, Dr. Blalock values meaningful relationships and a supportive environment. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to connect with students at University House,” she shares. “Having advised and encouraged hundreds of students, I enjoy the opportunity to live in community, learn from one another, and grow together.”
