Communities

Living on-campus at Baylor, you will experience a supportive Christian environment with people and services in place to help you achieve personal growth and academic success. You will have the opportunity to build significant relationships that will transform your life forever. You will experience what it means to be a part of something much bigger than yourself - a community.

At Baylor, you will join nearly 5,000 fellow Bears in the on-campus residential experience. Your living environment influences your social relationships, spiritual growth, and academic journey. You will become a valued member of a supportive, inclusive Christian community with people, services, and programs available to help you achieve personal and academic success.

First-Year Communities

First-Year Communities offer first-year students the opportunity to meet and live with other first-year students who have different interests and majors. These communities, which have a Faculty-in-Residence, endeavor to facilitate personal development and growth. First-Year Community Housing Contracts are for one academic year. Students may not reapply to a First-Year Community, but may apply to a Living-Learning Community, Residential College, or Baylor's Upper-Division Community for their sophomore through senior years at Baylor.

Living-Learning Communities

Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) are organized around specific academic programs or extracurricular interests. Students of all classifications live among other students with similar interests or degree plans. These communities provide specialized programming, cohort classes, and a Faculty-in-Residence to help enrich the community. Living-Learning Community Housing Contracts are for one year. Students may reapply to a Living-Learning Community.

Residential Colleges

Residential Colleges (RCs) are faculty-led communities that foster academic excellence, intensive faculty-student interaction, and rich culture steeped in Baylor tradition. Students of all classifications live in Baylor's Residential Colleges. Residential Colleges offer a special sense of community through community events and activities that help students connect with each other and faculty/staff. Residential College Housing Contracts are for two consecutive academic years. Students may reapply to a Residential College.

Upper-Division Communities

Baylor's Upper-Division Communities offer upper-division students suite and apartment style living options across three different communities. Like all on-campus housing, upper-division communities are furnished and fully staffed, including Community Leaders, Residence Hall Directors, and Resident Chaplains. Upper Division Community Housing Contracts are for one academic year and may be renewed.
